Industries Served - Commercial Testing
Commercial testing laboratories are quite similar in
some of their needs, whether the laboratory specializes in environmental
samples, materials testing, food & beverage analysis, or other types of
samples. All commercial labs are in a competitive marketplace and the
analytical work is won by providing a quality product (analytical results)
with exceptional "turn-around" time, at a competitive price.
In addition to its standard LIMS features, Aspen LIMS
addresses the special needs of the commercial testing laboratory including:
- Quotations - Aspen's quotation area handles
sophisticated quotation and pricing schemes, with volume discounts and
one-time charges. Reports are present to document win/loss performance
as well as "reasons lost".
- Invoicing - Invoices are automatically generated
and snapshot views of "work performed per date" are available.
- Integration with financial/accounting packages
- Analytical batching & QC reporting - contract
laboratories often employ LIMS systems for testing large batches of
client sample efficiently, where multiple samples from various clients
requiring the same tests need to be grouped together with appropriate
QC samples loaded into instruments and tested in a minimal amount of
runs. Some clients will require the results of not only QC performed
on their 'respective' samples, but also that associated with the analytical
batch - even if it wasn't performed on their samples. Aspen LIMS supports
these reporting requirements.
- Unlimited variety of reporting formats - Contract
laboratories must be able to reconcile customer's disparate needs and
respond quickly and efficiently to those needs in each customer's unique
format.
- Electronic deliverables
- Automatic generation of Client-specific reports
- Deliver test results to customers quickly and
efficiently via Web Interface - In addition to its Report Scheduling
capability to send snapshot reports to users automatically, the Aspen
Web Access module allows access to perform sample submission and access
sample status updates, reports and virtually all laboratory data using
either standard Internet Browser technology or via PDA's, Tablet PC's
or even SmartPhones. Aspen's web interface permits customer access in
a secure and controlled environment.
- GALP & NELAC compliance - Aspen complies with
all the key requirements outlined in EPA's Good Automated Laboratory
Practices, as well as those described by the NELAC Quality Assurance
manual.
